BUCS Regatta - Holme Pierrpont, Nottingham. Carol drove Niall and Atholl from AUBC down to this event and she managed to snap a few picture whilst also commentating (good multi-taskers these lassies). The Deecrepits annual Christmas row required a bit of ice-breaking in tubs. (new 22/412) One member of the crew could not come but sent Santa in his place; one was allowed to row for the first time in 6 months and one ended up with a wet bottom - all is revealed in the captions to the pictures. Thanks Graham for reminding me (22/4/12) that I had forgotten to publish these!	18th December 2011
ABC organised a Christmas 8s event for scratch crews. A fine mix of 42 competitors from various Aberdeen clubs entered. The 'Christmas Trees' crew was finally triumphant after an exciting 3-boat final	3rd December 2011

Castle Semple Regatta - despite strong winds across the rest of Scotland, the weather gods smiled (this time) on Castle Semple Loch. Rough water conditions did force reduction of the course distance from 1k to 500m but no-one seemed to mind this!	28th August 2011

Aberdeen Inter-Company Regatta This event, sponsored by GDF Suez E&P Ltd was held in generally good conditions - a bit windy at times but a tailwind during racing. Coastal Regatta, Anstruther, Fife Ron, along with SR umpires Neil MacFarlane and Douglas Cameron went to Fife for a day at the seaside. If you think conditions at Nottingham were rough at BUCS Regatta (see pictures below) you should check out the racing conditions on the North Sea off Anstruther. Despite appearances, none of the skiffs seemed in any danger of sinking and the rowers seemed very relaxed about the challenging wind and sea conditions.	Sat 28th May 2011

Aberdeen Sprint Regatta I was busy so not many photos, I regret. I was happy to win one medal but someone from ASRA (?Daniel) won 7 events! Others from ASRA had entered 11 separate events	18th Sept 2010 (day)
FISA World Masters Regatta 2010, St Catharines, Canada This was Ron and Carol's main holiday so lots of personal holiday snaps of Niagara Falls and Toronto. Sadly, racing was cancelled 2hrs into Saturday due to winds (didn't seem that bad to the Scottish competitors!) so the ABC team of Dan Davidson, Richard Mathieson, Jim Steel and Ron Wallace never got to race in their coxless 4. All Sham's training will have to be saved for another occasion. We had established a recurring pattern of leading off the start and trailing by the end of our races - more fitness work needed! Thanks to Doug Cameron for arranging great accommodation in Port Dalhousie and also booking the most ridiculously expensive (but best) meal I have ever had in Canoe Restaurant in Toronto. Monday - Wed - arriving at course, Niagara Falls by day Thursday 2/9/10 - Port Dalhousie, some racing, Masters fireworks Friday 3/9/10 - ABC 4X, ABC 2-, thunderstorm on the course Sat 4/9/10 - racing cancelled, stormy Lake Ontario, Masters Party Sun 5/9/10 - Mixed 4X, Merry-go-round, Niagara Falls by night Mon 6/9/10 onwards - Ron, Carol, Doug and Caren in Toronto	Pictures from Mon 30th August to Fri 10th September Regatta ran from 2nd to 5th Sept 2010

DNV Dee Marathon - some may be surprised at Ron featuring this strange, alternative watersport (kayaking and canoeing) where competitors can actually see where they are going! The Committee of the Dee were happy to support Integrate Paddling in this venture and Ron & Stuart snapped away, producing 423 photographs for your entertainment.	2^nd November 2008

ABC Ball - held at the (much modified) Boathouse. The pictures hardly do justice to the amazing transformation wrought on our training room to turn it into a beautiful setting for our 'Henley' themed Ball. Looking at winners and losers (in a vertical direction), I think I might feel happier in a Vespoli eight rather than a Resolute. Unfortunately the showers in the morning turned into a deluge in the afternoon but Snapper Ron was dead chuffed to win 2 out of the 3 events that he entered (and he survived 7 races to achieve this!) Tideway 2007	Some dramatic pictures from the wind-swept Head on Saturday. The event was cancelled after about 20 out of the first 50 crews sank! Note their stroke stopping rowing to free his feet as the boat goes under the Bridge! (it is 5Mb in size so broadband only)
